Venue Change for
2012
In early December 2011 we learned that the
traditional host of Houstonfest, Lanier Middle School, is scheduled to host a
large Houston ISD dance contest on the same day as Houstonfest. It is not
feasible to hold both events at Lanier at the same time. Thus, for one
year Houstonfest is moving to Clements High School in Sugar Land (Fort Bend ISD), where Houstonfest director Rustin Buck is the German teacher.

Lunch Options
We are sorry for the late notice, and we're
aware that a suburb on the southwest side of Houston is not central for
everyone. However, Clements is easy to access from Hwy. 59 and is only
about 30 minutes from central Houston. We hope that everyone will be able to
adapt to this sudden change and that all will enjoy the change of scenery.
We should be back at Lanier in 2013, assuming
that there isn't another conflict and that Lanier teacher Niels Nielsen
continues to want to host us.
Travel times to Clements from a handful of
schools, according to Google:
Alvin - 41 minutes
Bellaire - 26 minutes
Cinco Ranch - 31 minutes
Cy-Fair - 40 minutes
Deer Park - 46 minutes
Friendswood - 51 minutes
Tomball - 57 minutes
Kingwood - 62 minutes
TWCP - 65 minutes
Taylor - 3 hours |
When is the next Houstonfest?
Saturday,
February 2, 2013,
8:00 a.m. Where
is Houstonfest? Probably back
at its customary location at Lanier Middle School in Houston.
