There may be one team entry per school, with each team consisting of at least one but not more than four students.  No more than one upper-level student (German III, IV, or V) may be on a team, and no advantaged speakers may be on a team.  Each team may use one dictionary.  Contestants will be given a map of the campus (and/or surrounding area), a set of directions in German, and paper for writing answers.  The team must check out a route on a map according to written German directions.  Vocabulary will be kept simple.  Teams will be required to answer questions about objects, places, signs, etc., which can be found on the map.  Answers must be written in simple but complete German sentences.  The team which finishes the mapwork in the 45-minute time limit and answers the most questions in the most grammatically-correct German will be declared the winner.  Download critique sheet.
