Houstonfest Registration

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

February 4, 2012

Clements High School

  • This page will be updated in late 2012 to reflect the registration procedures for Houstonfest 2013.

  • To register, simply fill out this registration form (Excel spreadsheet):  click on the link, save the spreadsheet to your computer, fill it out, save it again, and then e-mail it as an attachment to info@houstonfest.org.  PLEASE USE LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME FORMAT FOR ENTERING STUDENT NAMES.  If you do not have access to a computer on which Excel is installed, let the director know.  Here is a sample form if you have any questions about how to fill out the registration form.

  • The only thing you need to send by regular mail is your payment check.  You may wish to enclose a print-out of the first page of the registration form, but there is no need to enclose all the pages.

  • Send the regular fee of $10 per student if your registration form is e-mailed by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012.

  • Send the late fee of $12 per student if your registration form is e-mailed during the period from Saturday, January 14, to Friday, January 20, 2012.  Late registration will not be accepted after 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 20.

  • Regardless of whether you submit your e-mail registration by the regular or the late deadline, your payment check should be postmarked by Friday, January 20, 2012.

  • IMPORTANT:  Make your check payable to "Metropolitan Houston AATG."  Use exactly those words!  Please, do NOT make out your check to the director's school or any other payee.  If you do, it will be returned.

  • Mail payment to:

Rustin Buck

Clements High School

4200 Elkins Rd.

Sugar Land, TX  77479-2403

  • No registration fees will be refunded for any reason.

  • Upon receiving your registration form, the director will make every effort to send you a confirmation e-mail within 24 hours.  If you don't receive a confirmation e-mail within 48 hours, please contact the director.

  • Registration fees have gone up and the terminology has changed for 2012.  The structure used to be $8 early-bird/$10 regular; now it is $10 regular/$12 late.  The other two regional contests and State raised their prices already in 2011, and Houstonfest is following suit for 2012.

  • If you have additions, deletions, or other changes to your roster of participants, please simply describe the changes in an e-mail rather than editing and resubmitting the Excel spreadsheet.  (Why?  Because once you submit your registration spreadsheet, the data gets manipulated in a number of complicated ways and dumped into the director's mega-spreadsheet, and once that has been done, it is easier for the director to make your changes one at a time "by hand" in his mega-spreadsheet than to start over slicing and dicing your revised spreadsheet.)

  • Rationale for registration via Excel spreadsheet:  Having everyone use an identical spreadsheet format for submitting the student names allows the director to use the information more efficiently (totaling up participant numbers, making participant lists for the judges, etc.).
